Encounter: training in Spiritual Direction

Encountering Spiritual Direction

God can be discovered most deeply in those moments when we encounter our truest self...
When we are open to  the challenge and gift of the other; and when we allow the wisdom of the tradition to illuminate our experience.

Encounter, a formation programme in spiritual direction, explores all three dimensions as it develops the art of listening and discernment.  Might you or someone you know feel called to this vital ministry?

Applications are currently being accepted for entry in 2015.

If you would like to know more:

follow this link to the course webpage

there will be two open evenings in the New Year where you can meet tutors and discuss your calling 22 January 2015 and 14 May 2015

The full course brochure may be downloaded here

Volunteer Opportunities

Everyone who visits knows our volunteers Helen Christina and Tania Powell, who help us to keep the church open on weekdays - we couldn't do it without them. Do you have secret skills? We'd like to hear from volunteers with DIY, A/V and hospitality skills. Please get in touch if you would like to help.

And a reminder that giving to the Centre is effortless - and free - if you route your online shopping through easyfundraising.

The Church of St Edmund, the home to the Spirituality Centre is open from Monday to Friday from 10.30am to 4.00pm offering a peaceful and contemplative resource.
There is the labyrinth that may be walked; quiet areas for reading and prayer; second hand books for sale; and refreshments.
The Church is closed from December 19 to January 5 inclusive.
