Lent Colouring

Seal Church's Lent colouring sheet is now available!
We enjoyed our Advent Colouring,  and hope the Lent sheet will be just as thought provoking.
You can print out the pictures below or download a pdf version here,

The colouring is designed to start on Ash Wednesday, (Feb 10) and you can fill in the spaces with simple colour, or draw or write something prompted by that day's Bible verse.

You can either colour a space a day, which will mean you finish at the beginning of Holy Week, or colour a space from Monday to Saturday, then take Sunday as a rest or catch up day. Strictly speaking Sundays don't count as part of Lent, as every Sunday is a celebration of the Resurrection! If you take this option, the colouring will take you right up to Easter Sunday.

Enjoy!

Coming soon at the London Spirituality Centre

Book Launch
Saturday 20 February 2016, 3-6pm

You are warmly invited to the launch of Kathleen Lyons' book: 'Mysticism & Narcissism: A Personal Reflection on Changes in Theology During My Life as a Cenacle Nun'.

Many of you will know Kathleen who was present at the inception of the Ignatian Spirituality Course and has long been one of its directors. Since retiring from active ministry she has written her memoirs of seventy years' experience in the theory and practice of Ignatian spirituality. In these memoirs Kathleen reveals the tension within herself, within the community and within the Church between mysticism and narcisissm and the significance of discernment as a daily practice.

Come and share a cream tea and glass of bubbly to celebrate this joyful achievement. Copies of the book will be on sale at the event. Please let us know if you are coming so that we can cater accurately. Please RSVP directlyto Annette Kaye

with Sr. Rachel Overton
Friday 5 February, 2016  11 - 4pm
£45.00

Chronic pain (ie on-going pain) has a tendency to narrow down our ability to experience life. In a society that seems to proclaim it’s right to be ‘pain-free’, how do we enable others to ‘be’ in pain and yet remain open to the abundance of life, and what are the challenges for us in meeting with them?

Sr Rachel is a solitary religious living in Peterborough. With a background in medicine and management of chronic pain, she now works as a spiritual director and retreat leader and is the Bishop’s advisor for spirituality for the Diocese of Peterborough. Read more and book

All Kinds of Ways of Praying

All Kinds of Ways of Praying
Led by Rosey Feuell
Monday evenings
6 – 8.30pm
Cost of the course is £80 for either part 1 or part 2 and £140 for the whole course.

Part 1 - Lent: Mondays 22, 29 February, 7,14 March 2016
Part 2 -  June 6,13, 20, 27 June, 2016

This Course is designed for people who may be familiar with traditional prayer times and methods, but would like to be more adventurous and creative in their approach and possible follow-up activities, relating prayer to their own needs and personal expression.
In this Course you will experiment with many different ways of praying - all of which are flexible and allow scope for you to include areas and materials important to your particular way of life and calling. An important aim is to provide varied opportunities for you to develop your own “spiritual self-expression” and individual style(s) of prayer.

The Course will:
• offer a combination of solitary and group work
• invite discussion and sharing to the extent you feel comfortable
• provide reflective and non-interpretative approaches
• encourage you to grow in prayer

The Course is open to people of all Christian traditions, those of other faith groups, and any who are seeking refreshment and greater depth in their prayer. It could be especially helpful to those who work with individuals and/or small groups where conventional prayer sessions are less appropriate. It could also offer ideas and inspiration for those alongside people with particular needs or interests as many approaches can be adapted to a variety of occasions.

The Course is divided into two separate parts, with two months between parts, to allow time for participants to develop some of their discoveries over Holy Week, Easter and Pentecost, in both private and public prayer activity.
