The Orpington
Julian Meeting is a long
established group, registered with The Julian Meetings.
We meet for contemplative prayer, inspired
by Julian of Norwich. Some readings and a short piece of music lead into 20
minutes of silence, followed by another piece of music, one or two more brief
readings and a closing prayer. Around half a dozen people usually attend. After
the formal part of the meeting we enjoy a cup of tea and a chat. Julian
Meetings are ecumenical. Ours draws in members of several Orpington churches.
We usually meet on the third Tuesday of
each month at 2pm.
The venue is someone's home in Orpington,
but the dates and venues are subject to slight variation according to holidays
etc.
New members are always welcome.

Ignatian spirituality
group (Hayes)
2nd & 4th Thursdays in the
month
8-9.30pm in Hayes (near
Bromley)
The group uses reflections,
journaling exercises and meditations to explore how our faith connects with our
everyday life.
Each meeting includes some
sharing time where each person can share their thoughts with the group (if they
wish to).
The group is open to people
from any church background (or none).

At Christ Church Orpington we hold times of 'listening to God' on the First Tuesday of each month from 8 - 9 pm in our side chapel.
There is a short introduction then people can either sit of lie (pillows and duvets provided) for about 40mins with soft music, whilst listening for what God has to say or show to us.
We then spend 10-15mins sharing what God has shown.
The group size varies from 7-16 and more are very welcome.
No session in August.

Christian Meditation, as taught by Fr John Main and Fr Lawrence Freeman of WCCM (World
Community for Christian Meditation). We meet at 10.30am on the first and third Thursdays of the month, at St Mary's Church, Downe.
