Ringing the Changes

Changes at The Centre: Update from Robin Hepburn, Chair of the London Spirituality Centre

Dear all,

Thank you all for your support and patience over the past few months.  In this time of change, I wanted to give everyone who is involved with the London Spirituality Centre a quick update on where we are. We've had some changes in the last few months; first with saying goodbye to our Director, Mark Godson and then farewell to our Events & Marketing administrator, Elizabeth LeMoine. I’m  now  pleased that we can now say hello to Beth Follini (photo below)  who following a great response to our advert, has been appointed as Elizabeth’s successor. This is her first week and her first newsletter, so please do pass any feedback to her. Beth has had a strong connection to the centre as a regular user of the practice rooms so she knows her way around.   She is looking forward to taking on the big responsibility for marketing our events and for marketing the work of the Centre.   She will be in on Monday and Friday and I'm sure you will all join me in making her feel welcome.

In addition to Beth, Catherine Chapman continues to be a cornerstone of the team here; although primarily responsible for room bookings and for finance, she is a fount of knowledge on most aspects of what we do. Whilst we are without a Director, Catherine is shouldering a big workload so I would be grateful if you could do all you can to make her job easier. Day to day we also have huge help from Helen and Tanya who are the front of house volunteers and who do so much to make all our visitors welcome.

Following Mark’s departure the Trustees for the Centre have chosen to pause rather than rush out to seek a new Director. During this time, I have been asked to take help with leadership on a day to day basis, and to help me do this, I have asked John-Francis Friendship, Julian Maddock and Antonia Lynn, together with occasional involvement of Julie Dunstan, to join me in forming a leadership team.

Together we are ensuring that the usual activities and events continue unabated, and we are also giving some thought to future development of the Centre. I have had the chance to speak to many people in recent weeks, but if you have not yet spoken to me and would like to do so, please let me know.

Over the coming months there will be much to share. The Centre is in good heart but there is also much to do. Above all this place is about the life of prayer, so if you can only manage one thing for the Centre this week, please can you pray for the work going on here, the people involved and the shaping of plans for the future.

Thank you for your continuing interest and support for the London Spirituality Centre.

With warmest wishes,

Robin
